Entertainment with meaning is our motto.

Puppetry is a beautiful art- form which has been there forever in India. Dhaatu’s Puppet Theatre was started as part of the Epic series of classes six years ago. Today, Dhaatu has a full fledged , professional puppet theatre. Various forms of traditional Karnataka puppetry have been explored here. A wide range of puppets like the ‘sutrada bombe’ ( marionettes) , ‘salaki bombe’ ( rod puppets), ‘kai bombe’ ( hand puppets) and ‘Togalu bombe’ (shadow puppets) have been incorporated in their puppet shows. Dhaatu aims at educating the people about the values of ancient Indian culture through puppetry.

Puppets are created here. Scripting, lyrics and music are done with great care. After months of contemplation and refinement, a production emerges. Each one speaks of the glories of the ancient Indian Heritage and wisdom.

Dhaatu has productions that are hour long and half hour in languages Kannada and English. Dhaatu puppet theatre has performed at the Hampi Festival of Karnataka in Nov- 2008.
